Bike the Barns 2007 a success!
Last year, MACSAC hosted over 300 riders on a 60 mile bike tour and raised over $11,000 in funds for Partner Shares.
Many thanks to our riders, volunteers, farms, and sponsors. We look forward to see you again in 2008!

Tour Dane County's beautiful farm country and visit three Community Supported Agriculture farms. Your ride will be fueled with gourmet local food, including breakfast, snacks, and a three-course lunch prepared by Underground Food Collective, Café Soleil and other star cooks from our local food system--all included in the $35 registration fee.
All proceeds, including pledges collected by bike riders, will support Madison Area Community Supported Agriculture Coalition's Partner Shares Program. Since Partner Shares’ inception in 1997, over 2,300 underserved and low-income households have received fresh local food.
Though the route is pretty hilly, riders with diverse skill levels are welcome. Smaller groups will be traveling at different paces. The full ride is 60 miles, but a shorter 27 mile ride is an option for riders who can arrange for pickup at our noon hour lunch stop at Vermont Valley (see the route here and a listing of the farms and visits here). Lunch is now sold out for non-riders. Sorry!
Bike the Barns is one way that MACSAC aims to raise awareness of CSA farms in south central Wisconsin. MACSAC is committed to creating a sustainable, just and locally based food system by promoting and supporting CSA farms and their members. This year over 12,000 people are receiving local, sustainably grown foods through membership in area farms.
