Greenspirit Farm is a family-run and family-friendly farm in the beautiful rolling hills of Southwest Wisconsin. While not yet certified organic, we pledge always to grow your food in a sustainable way, to treat our land with love, respect and care, and always to remain local. We also pledge to treat you with love, respect, and care: members and visitors are always welcome at the farm. We are here because of you, and we value your presence here. Features Heirloom vegetables
Living Soil Community Farm is a small family-run farm located in the Town of Oregon in southern Dane County. It is nestled in a valley of sandy loam soil left by a receding glacial lake. Our vegetables and fruits are grown using natural and sustainable practices. We believe strongly that caring for the soil and the environment grows stronger and better tasting vegetables. Natural soil amendments like compost and rock powders are used to feed the life in our soil, which in turn feeds and protects our plants. Our farm has grown out of our love of gardening. We enjoy growing a large selection of heirloom and modern varieties, especially tomatoes and peppers. The varieties are selected based on flavor and in some cases their unique appearance. Many can’t be found in a typical grocery store, since they don’t meet modern requirements for harvesting before ripe, storage, and traveling half way around the Earth. A benefit of buying local, small farm produce is that you get to experience the wonderful flavors of vegetables harvested when ripe and carefully delivered often on the day they were harvested.

Canned good shares also make wonderful gifts and come in time to share with friends and family for many holiday traditions. Canning is a very old way of preserving food, long before we had refrigerators and freezers. Very few people have the time to put up their own food anymore. Thankfully we find it to be a very creative outlet for us, and a great way to enjoy our produce year round! Food is art and we enjoy sharing this season’s colorful harvest with you through the variety of canned good shares we offer. Please call or email us for a brochure. The number of canned good shares is limited so call early to reserve.

West Star Farm certified organic flowers and vegetables are grown on 40 acres of gently sloping farmland just 7 miles east of Madison. We are located 1 mile off of both 12/18 and I-90 on Hwy N. The farm was purchased in 1993; West Star Farm was started in 1997 and became certified organic in 1999. The farm includes a wooded walking trail, a pasture, three greenhouses, an old farmhouse, and a barn with a silo, all sitting on nutrient rich clay loamy soil. We pride ourselves on quality. We take the steps to insure ripe, fresh and flavorful produce for our customers. It is evident we are committed to healthy farming practices demonstrated through our cover crop management and soil fertility program. Our CSA members select their fresh-picked produce prepared and awaiting them in our restored barn. We will offer a variety of U-picks: strawberries, wild berries, flowers, herbs, and pumpkins. All weekly boxes contain a newsletter about farm updates, storage tips and recipes. We want our CSA members to feel welcome and a part of our farm. Please visit our website at www.weststarfarm.com for more info and updates on our farm and CSA shares. You are welcome to come visit our picturesque farm anytime.

Clear View Family Farms is located in the scenic fertile hills and valleys of rural Hillsboro. Our goal is to provide a selection of fresh produce, 23 weeks of the year, establishing a relationship with you while we are supporting our family and farms in an honorable and satisfying way, farming organically without modern machinery. In addition to the regular shares we also offer storage, preservation, chicken, turkey, egg, herb, and flower shares. We specialize in supplying real and basic food that is locally produced by local people. We firmly believe in the free enterprise system of direct marketing and try to avoid the large incorporation system. We also operate a springtime greenhouse open to the public and offer farm tours several times a year.

Features: season extension, worker share
With three acres in cultivation and about a dozen households in Stoughton and Madison, the members of Zephyr Group Garden (ZIGG) have banded together to share both the work and the bounty of the crops. We use a worker cooperative model in which all members collaborate as growers while the farm maintains traditional crop production. We have a strong focus on growing vegetables for preservation, although we can't resist a few delicious fresh eating items as well. Crops are harvested and distributed as they ripen; there are no weekly deliveries to drop-off sites.
